So here it goes!

My name is Gunter Blokken. Currently I’m a 21 year-old student Communication & MultimediaDesign (C-MD) at the Media & Design Academie, in Genk (Belgium).
I’m interested in things like graphic design, audiovisual stuff, photography, interactive applications and games, art and new media in general, … I enjoy thinking of original and renewing concepts and bringing these to life. I hope to start working in this area after finishing this school year. But we’ll see what the future will bring.

Right now, you might ask yourself, “What is Eckelwood?”.
Good question, but to be honest I’m not sure yet myself. Currently only a blog is to be found, but basically I guess it’s gonna become some kind of a domain to experiment and showcase personal projects and work. The next step is planned for the near future and will be my portfolio. If you came here to see my work, stay clear of the “Back” button though, because here is what I will be talking about on this blog:

• As I finish a work I will showcase the result here on my blog. The blog will probably hold most of my work since I’ll only show a selection of my work on my portfolio-page. Also updates on works in progress might be posted from time to time. Feel free to leave a comment on the works posted, I’m sure I’ve got things to learn.
• If I stumble upon something I like, I might publish something about it here. So you can check it out yourself.
• Related to that I will do some product reviews as well. Just stuff that might come in handy or things I like, again.
• As an extra I’ll link up my flickr account with this blog too. (But give me some time to fill my account up a bit first :))
• And from time to time you might even catch an update on my life on here as well.

As for the development of the blog itself, I noticed there are still some problems with the footer in Safari and of course huge eyesores in IE6 due to the lack of support for transparant png’s. Maybe some other glitches, just wanted to get this started so I can move on to other things.

Well, I guess that’s it for my first post already. More of them will follow really soon, as I will kick off showing some of my older works on here. So stay tuned! (use the RSS-feed for example)
